About Cait
Cait is an author-illustrator who grew up surrounded by cows in the San Joaquin Valley in California. She grew up the daughter of two second grade teachers, and so has spent a lot of time with picture books, whether reading them or sorting through them for classroom libraries. One of her earliest hobbies was writing plays that she forced her three younger brothers to act in, and creating her own books using super old computer software or cardboard, glue, and broken crayons. She spent ten years as a software engineer before deciding to live life (mostly) away from the computer screen due to migraines.
In 2024, Cait started creating picture books full time. She is still pre-published, but dreams of seeing her own books in bookstores someday. Her goal is to make books that inspire kids and adults to laugh together, that lead to good conversations, and allow them to share that special bond that comes through reading.
Cait loves music, crossword puzzles, leafy things, and running around with her puppy. She now lives in Seattle where there are notably less cows.
